Tooth extractions are a relatively routine procedure that Dr. Blue and our staff have performed countless times. Still, we understand that you might not be happy with the prospect of having your teeth pulled even if their current state is poor. We don’t take tooth extractions lightly, and will only do them when you have a tooth or teeth that are decayed or damaged beyond repair, or to prevent damage to the surrounding tissues, bone, and other teeth from impacted teeth.
As we’ve explained, pulling most teeth is a common procedure that can easily be completed right here in our Basalt, CO office. Dr. Blue will administer a local anesthetic to numb the area around the affected teeth before performing the extractions, which can be necessary for a variety of reasons:
It’s typical for wisdom teeth to begin to erupt through the gums between your late teens and mid-20s. These can be a challenge to clean due to their position in the mouth, can cause problems for the surrounding teeth, and often end up as impacted teeth. Wisdom teeth extractions are a little more involved than other tooth extractions, but can still be usually performed during a single visit to our Basalt, CO office.
Dr. Blue will give you a local anesthetic to numb the extraction site before the procedure. You will also be given the option of oral sedation in advance to make the procedure stress- and fear-free. In this case, you’ll need to have someone bring you to and from your appointment, as you will be temporarily unable to drive a car.
