Expect a Life-Changing Transformation with Dental Implants

Dental implants are the best option for tooth replacement

Take a Step-by-Step Look at the Process

If you’re considering dental implants, you probably have many questions about the process. First, let us assure you that when you choose Dr. Marcus Blue for your dental implant placement, you can expect a professional, comfortable experience with a quality clinical outcome in which your oral health, appearance, and confidence are restored! In some cases, you can leave the appointment with temporary new teeth the very same day you receive dental implants! These provisional teeth will enable you to eat, speak, laugh, and smile with confidence until your permanent ones are placed.

Now let’s take a step-by-step look at what your journey to a happier, more care-free life with dental implants will be like.

Initial Consultation

Initial Consultation

Before we perform any procedure, we first get to you know you. During this visit we’ll review your medical and dental histories, explain the dental implants process from start to finish using a visual presentation, and do a thorough oral examination that includes x-rays and a bone density evaluation to determine if you’ll need bone grafting before having your dental implants placed.

Treatment Planning

Treatment Planning

From the information we gather during that initial visit, we’ll develop a customized treatment plan for you, then schedule your surgery, doing everything possible to ensure that your procedure and the subsequent healing go smoothly.

Surgical Placement

Surgical Placement

On the day of your surgery, you’ll take an oral sedative before departing for our Basalt, CO office. This will require you to have someone drive you to and from your appointment. In the procedure room, Dr. Blue will numb the site of the implants using a local anesthetic. He’ll then perform any necessary tooth extractions or bone grafting before starting to place one to eight dental implants in your jaw, depending on whether you need a single implant, several implants, or are going for a full arch replacement.

The Healing Process

The Healing Process

After placement of your dental implants and temporary teeth, the surgery site should be healed within 8-10 weeks. During this time, you’ll have follow-up visits so that we can check on your progress. You may be surprised by the genuine care we show you, but we believe you should expect nothing less from your Roaring Fork Valley neighbors.

Final Prosthetic Placement

Final Prosthetic Placement

Expect your permanent teeth to arrive about three months after placement of your dental implants. Dr. Blue and our team will then have you back to remove any temporary teeth you may have before placing your permanent ones. You’ll then be able to enjoy everyday activities like eating and laughing without worry for a lifetime!

Follow-Up Care

Follow-Up Care

Dental implant failure and complications are rare, but we always provide personalized follow-up care to ensure the success of your dental implant placement and give you complete peace of mind. Also, be sure to watch for special “thank you” messages from us after your visits.
